UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Very nice photo. I really liked there uniform. Simple. I don't think you need to excuse the glass reflection. I consider myself lucky that you even posted it and I get to see it.....so thanks!

OMG, shades of the movie, Empire of the Sun! Banzai all the way! Ultra terrific capture in this shot, with stellar lighting and detailed effects, Bill! But I think you could have cloned out the light reflections in this instance, at least on the Petty Officer's coat and on the rising sun flag in the background.

Stunning image. You apologized for the reflections, but I think they belong there...they add an eerie quality to this image, somehow fitting with the expressions of these two warrior-gentlemen. The details are amazing and a bit spooky...the officer standing has unusually realistic thumbnails! That's a bit creepy, coupled with the expressions these guys are wearing. It's almost as if they're something other than costume-modeling mannequins that aid in displaying the uniforms. I love that. You've captured this with an admirable bit of sensitivity. Great work! Or as they'd say in Japanese: "Ii desu ne!"

I don't mind the reflections at all! :D I knew this for your work even before I checked the artist's name on the thumb. I'll have to think about why that's so ... I think it links into our conversation. A beautifully detailed display, and you've captured it perfectly.

A great find and share Bill. Reflections are a part of life and sometimes the camera catches them. It's OK. :>) Dana

excellent clear shot ! love the uniformes :-)

Nice capture and interesting information Bill. The quick disconnect of the harness on the right seems to be similar to ours (US) which would allow a pilot on the ground to get out of the aircraft fast!

Fine uniforms and a real slice of history shot!
