Your postcard really oozes magic. Wonderful style. I love it.

This is an old postcard, though it could also be an old illustration that might have accompanied a cookie tin, or a box of thread, or box of soaps, etc, the way those old illustrations were used in the turn of the last century. It's a lovely painting, with etch-like lines and the kind of 'unreal' colors that were so common to print in those days. (You're so sensitive to older styles of art, even though you work in a wholly modern vein!) I don't know if you actually drew all this, or compiled it, etc. But even if you compiled it or processed it, it's masterfully done. Yet as one studies it, one sees your subtle, jarring yet completely natural additions: The crocodile in the lower right corner, the woman's head a ways up on the right, what appears to be a primal face in a window a little below her, a female in the bushes on the other side who appears to be different from the scene (yet she blends in perfectly), the two arms out of the chimneys above that, the fish head right-top, the periscope or some viewer coming out of the ground & peering over the whole scene on the top left (the piece is looking at itself: That is NOT early 19th C!) And you've woven these into your vision with the greatest ease, not one thing doesn't belong and yet each item's presence is jarring all the same. Amazing how you do that so much. And the idea of a series of these is just tremendous. I'm so sorry I miss your uploads as often as I do; I've gotten on RR in spurts; and then because I leave long comments--which, really, I really want to do, I mean I really love to do that--it limits how much I can comment when I do comment. I can't comment on everything when my comments are this long, lol. But know that your gallery warrants long visits, it's that rich; and this is a perfect example of why. Masterful, so few do what you do, and you do it sso naturally. Wonderful concept & piece.

Oh, I could so easily live there! I love this! WOW! The colors and textures are astounding, and though it's a collage, it looks so completely coherent as if everything was just meant to be there in the first place. This is gorgeous work!
