Description

This is a Hong Kong Orchid. They grow on trees about 25 feet (7.5m) high and we have 6 on our property. We have had a long period of drought, followed by 18 days of almost daily, half hour thunder showers. This is the first of our orchard season. Taken today. Hope that you like it. Nice color and flower, but not an orchid. One way to tell for sure is that the reproductive parts in this one are on separate stalks - all orchids have them combined into one part.
