Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Isn't Art Deco neat?! Old theaters saved from the 20s are grand repositories of such artistic decorations. What a grand window from a time when everybody danced...before TV:-)

this is wonderful. Maybe you tell them you a art person for this site and show them a card you made up to show you a pro and maybe they let you in for free it that all you do

I like jocko's idea...make up a card, wear it like a pass and just bluff your way in. My friend Tanya always does things like that and you'd be amazed at the places she gets into for free. Of course, her Russian accent probably helps, as does her "Saint Petersburg" attitude. As for this shot. It's spectacular and very warm. I love the way you keep these "hot" colors under perfect control. That takes some doing and you pulled it off wonderfully. This is superb work!

What a tease.....you really must go inside next time. This is Beautiful with a capital 'B'. Nicely captured. We are at present replacing and re-decorating our bathroom. The builders have been here 1 week so only 1 more week to go! As the house was built in 1936 we have chosen to give the room an 'art deco' feel.....I hope it works.

This is a great shot. I can't believe they turn a great place of culture into a casino, that's just so wrong.
