Description
Captured 10/25/09, at the 8th Annual Wings Wheels Rotors & Expo, held at the beautiful Joint Forces Training Base (JFTB) in beautiful Los Alamitos, California.
Much better viewed full size.
Since debbielove has been posting fine shots of his B-25J Mitchell, I figured it was about time I posted mine. I took several photos of the plane, which had just landed, and mostly up close because there was too much of a mob around the plane for any decent full aircraft shots. From the way the crowd ran up to the bomber after it landed was reminiscent of the scene when Charles Lindbergh landed outside of Paris after his transatlantic flight in 1927. They acted like they had never even seen a plane before. There was even a MP with a bullhorn shouting at the people to stand back until the propellers stopped spinning. Picture #1 was taken standing behind a line of yellow tape that prevented us jackals from approaching too near the ship while it was coming to a stop. After that it was every man, woman, and child for themself.
Anyway, I got some pretty good nose art pics, which I'll show tomorrow. I just wanted to get the nose weapons out of the way on this go-around.
Tally-ho, and thankx for the visit.

Outstanding...and it is mild (Oh no that was an old cigarette ad line). Fine photos. I was going to fall on my sword and ask why we weren't being treated to a full view of "Executive Sweet", the noseart...until I read all the way through. Good timing posting yours along with Rob popping up his today. Atta boy!!!

I think this plane was at a show at the Livermore Ca airport recently...but they had the crowds strictly controlled..that is (far enough away) most of the time..:) they are really fascinating to see in person..great images Harry..

Good heavy duty collage. Like the last picture with the interest of the old gentleman in a plane.

Great shots Harry. I particularly like the first one, the man guiding the plane in.

I don't know anything about aircraft Harry other than my hate flying in them. So the only meaningful thing I can say is that it is mighty fine shots! :))

These are really interesting! I like the reflection of the shoes in the forth one. I'm curious about the area with the flags in the first one. Is that a man sittng up there? Did the flags blow like crazy as they came in? Beautiful shots!

I'm always interested in closeups. I'm intrigued by the meaning of the locomotive graphic on the nose? A railway raid??? Or something else?
