Description

Hands up who didn't know I was going to do this? It's not perfect, there are better models out there, but I'm happy. It's still a hybrid between the old and the new and you can see elements of both. Again, the panel texture were borrowed and tweaked (I needed slightly smaller panels and more of them) from a Death Star model by Thomas Banner http://www.spacecadet.dk/ Wings and Carrara. Thanks for looking.

Fantastic job on the Enterprise's lighting. Excellent.

I still think this Enterprise, the design from the 80s motion-pictures, was the best looking simple, functional, and balanced. The original was too 50s scify, the next gen one was too curved and rounded with the saucer section being way too big, the new one is ok but what is up with the over sized necells? (How do you spell that?)

I like your Enterprise. It looks true to the original. However, I think you need to mat you texture a bit more. The deflector array shining on the hull ruins your scene.

Ok you get to live a bit longer!! As long as it was that thing from the new movie sigh!!! Sorry didn't fall for the flashy new look or the boom and Star Wars effects Good or no it was still an attempt and burying the Classic Trek! Not falling for the banana in the tail pipe...Yea! Awesome new attempt!!

Great picture, but I have to agree with the deflector dish reflection comment. It does detract from the image. If it were centered on the underside it would be more accurate. And I was there when STAR TREK debuted. The original was perfect for it's time, the new movie is too Next Gen/DS(/Voyager in it's look. Still a great image.
