Description

I'm usually crawling around UNDER all those pilings, getting my feet wet, sandy and cold. But the last time I was there last month, I thought, hmmmm, maybe I should take a foto of the WHOLE thing. Not quite, this is only about half of it, but there you have it. I don't know how long it is; it's a bit of a walk all the way to the end and back. Takes me a LONG time with all those surfers I have to watch!! ps--this is the Huntington Beach pier**, in southern California, for those who might not know. also, the structure in the middle is a high tech lifeguard station, manned 24/7. one of these days, i'm gonna knock on the door and ask if i can take a look!! **pier

I am very familiar with the underside. So, where is this? SoCal or up by your house? Good looking pier, complete with a light house and weather station...or so it appears. Like your POV and crop. You might be out of the club if you showed the entire thing:-)))

Beautifully done! It seems to have been upgraded quite a bit since my teenage days on it; I watched a fisherman pull in a shark there once!

I think you should knock on the door. The guy who works there is named Mario, and I'm sure he would love to show you around! I'd spend all my time walking up and down the pier. What a great place!

I thought it was an air control tower. I also vote that you knock on the door. Super sharp capture. Dana

I've been here a number of times when visiting my stepmother. This is a nice picture and POV. And there is the stage and seating just to the north and the area for booths selling whatever. A really nice place to go walking.

Yeah, knock on that door. Imagine the photos you could take from inside that tower! I like this quite a lot; you've shown us the bigger picture, so to speak, of your favorite pier, and WOW! It's so well done--that's not surprising though, you are quite good at this and your love of this pier shows through. What's even better is it looks warmer there than it is here...warmth is a good thing. Weather wise, we've gotten above zero today, but not too far above it. I like this a lot, and into my favorites it goes!
