Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I am very familiar with the underside. So, where is this? SoCal or up by your house? Good looking pier, complete with a light house and weather station...or so it appears. Like your POV and crop. You might be out of the club if you showed the entire thing:-)))

Beautifully done! It seems to have been upgraded quite a bit since my teenage days on it; I watched a fisherman pull in a shark there once!

I think you should knock on the door. The guy who works there is named Mario, and I'm sure he would love to show you around! I'd spend all my time walking up and down the pier. What a great place!

I thought it was an air control tower. I also vote that you knock on the door. Super sharp capture. Dana

I've been here a number of times when visiting my stepmother. This is a nice picture and POV. And there is the stage and seating just to the north and the area for booths selling whatever. A really nice place to go walking.

Yeah, knock on that door. Imagine the photos you could take from inside that tower! I like this quite a lot; you've shown us the bigger picture, so to speak, of your favorite pier, and WOW! It's so well done--that's not surprising though, you are quite good at this and your love of this pier shows through. What's even better is it looks warmer there than it is here...warmth is a good thing. Weather wise, we've gotten above zero today, but not too far above it. I like this a lot, and into my favorites it goes!
