I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

You've got so many guts! To change the sea into a b&w picture! Who would have thought that it would make such an extraordinary picture! Wow Carin, it is amazing... you're simply the best! XX

Wow those are some rough seas. I am very familar with the song. I think I have it on at least two CDs. I love the texture in the water, awesome.

Never heard of your song, but... Over the seas we go men, we'll never give up, we'll never give up the ship... (Lyrics from an old Dick Powell movie) Superlative contrast of the frothy crested waves against the blackness of the turbulent ocean, Carin!

Outstanding image of a stormy sea. The words are perfect, they speak of a safe harbor.

Fantastic image! The pov is amazing ... it makes me feel like the whole ocean is about to come crashing down on me! Excellent photograph.
Chaosphoto
Great POV and colour effect Carin, it really makes it look bigger, more striking and wilder than I imagine it was.

Oh, this is a stunning image. Intensely dramatic. It does look as if the ocean is about to come surging right at you, crashing down with all of Poseidon's fury (ancient gods were big on the fury thing, have you noticed?) I love your choice of black and white, it really amps up the emotional intensity of this shot. It's a beautiful capture!

Dramatic atmosphere... I like it!

the prose reminds me of the story about a person that complains to god that why did he promise to be with them during their darkest hour. God replied I was with you. the person says I only saw one track of prints in the sand. God says who do you think was carrying you superb seascape

There is something special about the power of the ocean, relentless. This is a very powerful capture Carin. B&W was a great choice. Dana
