The "detail" peaks my curiosity: Is this a panel from a larger work? It could be. It has monumental scale, and I wonder if, in its entirety, it doesn't have variations on what you've done here. Or you could have actually created a detail from scratch, creating a work of art that with a larger whole in mind, but never creating the whole. You've done that instinctively in a number of your works; in fact, it's one of your many finer traits. The patterns are delineated with great clarity, and with strong grainy detail in the larger in-between sections. And your hues (as in other of your wholly linear works) move in slow morphs across the whole. The patterns seem almost Celtic--like the Book of Kells or Lindisfarne Gospels--with their angular turns & change of direction. And the whole feels like highly complex stained glass. A fine complex piece, with a scintillating line throughout, and, in addition to a 'sameness', there's that minimalist variation from top to bottom that suggests cell life, with all cells being alike & yet each with its different shape. Thoughtful, fine & detailed art.
