Are these Monarchs or Viceroys? I can't actually tell the difference, which is the point, since Viceroys taste good to birds and Monarchs are full of milkweed toxin. It's best to look like something nasty when things are interested in eating you! Anyway, I love this shot. Butterflies (at least in Chicago) are notoriously skittish, and they present unique challenges to capturing them. You captured these two beautifully, and I love the details. Great use of light as well. This is a great shot.
