Photo taken in autumn 2008 in Camaiore
Camaiore is a town of 32,087 inhabitants [1] of the province of Lucca. It extends from the Apuan Alps to the east, to the plains and the west coast of Versilia.
In its territory there are many environments characteristic. They range in fact from the beach of Lido di Camaiore, the peaks of the Apuan Alps such as Monte Prana, Mount Matanna, Mount Gabber, passing through hills more or less high. Also important was the plain of capezzanese known for growing flowers or nursery industry in general, in addition to lidese waterfront and hillside villages with small vines and olive trees. In terms of catchment, Camaiore is full of water present mainly in large underground aquifers from which it is continuously extracted for both private use, plant nursery and some neighboring towns to replenish the local water supply. Summer 2007 were felt strong earthquakes that some experts are finding the excessive pumping of water from underground. The fears materialize even more if one remembers that the phenomenon of chasms in the mid-nineties, caused extensive damage following the collapse of some houses [citation needed]. Throughout the territory they run small streams fed by mountain runoff of water, among the largest Lombricese the river that runs at the foot of Mount Gabber, touching the nearby town earthworms and joins with another course, the Lucese that hand in hand down the homonymous, reaches downstream through Nocchi, Marignane and the bottom of up to Pieve di Camaiore Camaiore. From here onwards it will join with the Lombricese Camaiore to form the river at its mouth which is also called Fosso Abbot. Throughout the territory there are also small ponds or lakes fed by the small size of different sources. The whole coast of Lido di Camaiore is washed by the Ligurian Sea, off the coast of Liguria, which extends to the promontory of Piombino, and not as erroneously believed by the Tyrrhenian Sea, whose name has replaced the common language of that historic Tuscan sea.

Lovely photo, and a very informative narrative. California has overpumped their aquifers, too; as well as drained several small lakes to near nothing, destroying the local environment. All due to Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Francisco using well over 50% of the state's resources!

Bella foto! Le case sembrano sta incastonato nella collina. Mi piace rasati immagini in cui la montagna prende il posto del cielo. Ciò ha bei colori! I colori caldi dell'autunno molto carina contro i toni del blu della montagna. Otteniamo la nostra acqua da una falda acquifera a San Antonio troppo. E 'sempre una lotta tra lo sviluppo in rapida crescita e la necessità di proteggere la falda acquifera. Buona domenica e buona settimana Beautiful photo! The houses look like they are nestled into the hillside. I like closely cropped pictures where the mountainside takes the place of the sky. This has lovely colors! The warm autumn colors look very pretty against the bluer tones of the mountain. We get our water from an aquifer in San Antonio too. It is always a struggle between the fast growing development and the need to protect the aquifer.

Sono stata a Lido di Camaiore ma non a Camaiore... spero di colmare la lacuna quanto prima! La casa immersa tra gli alberi è fantastica, così come i colori della bellissima Toscana! :)
