Description

As the flight leader closed in on the enormous insect his wing-man spotted a second creature in the distance. With full reheat he shot off in pursuit. Squadron Leader Cummings kept up a constant narrative as he flew ever closer to the bug, the beat of it's giant wings causing him and his aircraft to vibrate, and the droning buzz was drowning out the voice in his headphones. Taking a unilateral decision he gave the order: "Go hot! Select targets and destroy!I say again, destroy!" Cummings' finger hovered over the trigger on his stick... * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Bugs are DAZ, the Harriers... no idea. They came from a freebie site. No textures so I made very basic ones. I loved 50s Giant Bugs On Rampages flicks ! Nothing beat colossal mutants versus cutting edge 50s military equipment in stock footage ! (Well, okay, THE GIANT CLAW with its colossal vulture series bit.) Good thing you stuck to a plane with cannon. If they were in more advanced craft limited to missiles, it would be kind of embaressing to admit none of your weapons would lock onto a non-metallic, non-IR-emitting target. Still, if this were a flick, this is when the pilots are about to discover the hunter-prey status is about to switch.....

Fun stuff, I also grew up watching those 1950's and '60's giant insect movies (as well as a huge dosage of Godzilla) which I still love to watch. I like the harrier model, you did a good job on the textures, and on the motion blur.
