Heartfelt thanks go to Carolly (hauksdottir) for all her help, suggestions and unbiased critiques, she has held my hand through the final touches of this image, even though we are half a world apart.
Also thanks to Dan of Black Hawk Graphics, on whose site I found the poem that inspired the picture.

I think this is quite beautiful and conveys a good deal of the depth of feeling that must have gone into conceiving and creating it. Thanks for sharing!

Your Native American figure is, I think, almost perfect, and together with the earth and sky speak a strong message and communicate a feeling of deep despair. I'm not sure about the dead wolf; for some reason that figure doesn't seem to really be working with the rest of the elements as well. Maybe a slightly different pose, the head thrown back a bit more, the body a bit more gaunt, and perhaps a little different lighting, more shadowy in that particular area. This is going to be an extremely powerful piece, and I really look forward to seeing it when it is all completed. Peace, Morgan

I agree with everything mlevans said, I'd also add maybe having the eyes spun round so just the whites are showing and the tongue sticking out, can't really see it sticking out from this angle but if the wolf was dead it would just hang out the mouth. Rob

Today when I went home for lunch there was a baby robin breathing real heavy on my porch step - I grabbed my dog so she wouldn't hurt it. When I came back out to help, it die in front of. I beleive is had eaten some poison because it looked as if nothing was hurt on it. Tears of understanding the complexities of our modren world. I am impressed with this image. If only we could make people understand what is going to happen to us ALL if we continue down the path of distruction.
