STAND
Standing in my jail cell
Looking out to the sea
I see a free bird fly by
Wishing it was me
I had so many choices
Now all I hear is voices
Standing in this jail cell
La Virgen de Guadalupe and me
As the years go by
My body ink becomes dry
Stuck in this jail cell
Feels like I’m in hell
I was given a life sentence
Reaping havoc and vengeance
Society put me away
Now I give my life to repay
Family and friends so far away
Never want them to see me this way
Someday I may get out
If so I will jump and shout
Standing in my jail cell
Looking out to the sea
I see a free bird fly by
Oh God please let it be me
