Description

Tonight I upload this with a heavy heart, but also to celebrate the life of my Lucky Lou Lou. Yesterday I had to make one of the hardest decisions in my life. I sat with her to the end and then I had to let my little girl know that her best friend had passed away. I have been blessed with almost thirteen years with Lucky. I brought her home from the pound without an ounce of knowing how to take care of an animal. She was all of 2 ounces, the runt of 15 puppies, and grew to be 50 lbs. She was never learned how to be a dog. She was human. She was a loyal and loving friend. I have so many fond memories of her and I am trying to keep them in my heart. I do not wish to remember her last moments, even though it was peaceful. Last night would have been my mother's 69th birthday, so we chose to celebrate both of their lives. It will now be a double celebration each year. I would like to thank those friends of mine here who gave me advice, comfort, strength, and friendship on this matter. I can never really thank you enough. May God bless and keep each and everyone of you during this holiday season! Thank you for visiting today!

My condolences for your loss. When any family member, four legs, wings, fins or whatever, is lost it is never easy. Thirteen years seems such a short time to share with a loved companion. It is a beautiful photo of her. A good memory to share and to keep.

Oh Beth, I am in tears .. Lou is/was so beautiful. Just look at those eyes and that happy face! I know she had 13 wonderful years filled with love, and now she watches over your little girl and you and your husband. You were all blessed to have found each other. And Lucky Lou was blessed to have a Human companion who knew when it was time to set her free. God Speed Lucky Lou-Lou.

Got me choked up here too. Deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved companion. You gave her a home, hope and love, no more could be asked of you. And to share thirteen years of companionship with such a delightful creature (I mean, just look at that smile), surely you two were meant to share your lives. It's never easy to make that heart-rending choice to see your companion cross into Summer, but you know, they will be waiting for you across the Rainbow Bridge and you will be reunited again. Remember the good times and the love you shared with Lucky and she'll always be with you and her best friend. They are less pets than companions, friends, children and comforting presences in our lives for the time that they are here to grace them.

Never easy! I go thru it, I always have two dogs, I feel the pain and I will definately feel it again and again, but the love thru-out their lives to us and from us to them is immesurable! If we could only learn from them! Best to you! And prescious picture also! =)

I had to do the same with my friend Pooper two years ago. The memory of her last breath is still painful, but I will not forget. She loved me completely with that breath, as she did from the first time she saw me, fourteen years earlier. To forget any moment of that unconditional love would be to reject what she gave me. I miss her very much, but I would not change a thing. I am sure you will feel the same about your Lucky. She was obviously a lovely and happy lady.

My condolences for your loss. I am so sorry. We have had this decision in the last years and 3 dogs passed away and 2 horses. They are all in my heart. But I get tears in my eyes, by reading that you have lost your friend.

Oh I am so sorry for your loss of such a beautiful friend, she looked to be such a happy soul. She will always be a part of you, in your thoughts and in your heart forever, and will be waiting at rainbow bridge for you along with my beloved pets that passed on too. I used to be a veterinary nurse and I can assure you that you did the most selfless act for your beloved dog who always showed unconditional love, you showed her too just how much you loved her. So many people (unknowingly) leave it far too long before they have to face the inevitable, and it takes great strength and love to ease your pets ending mercifully. God bless you, warm hugs Jane xx

Losing a furry friend is one of the hardest things that one can go through. I lost my friend 4 years ago and still miss him. I wish you the best.

Thinking of you in your loss. I have been through this 13 times so far, and always immediately get another rescue. No time then to think too much about the gap.

Sono dispiaciuto per te ma sono contento per la dimostrazione di sensibilita' e sentimenti da parte tua . Troppe persone trattano un cane come un giocattolo e non come essere vivo che merita affetto per quanto ne da'. Buon Natale !!! I'm sorry for you but I'm happy for the demonstration of sensitivity 'and feelings on your part. Too many people treat a dog like a toy and not as a living being that deserves love as far as from '. Merry Christmas! Mario

Lou Lou was indeed "Lucky" to have you all as her family. I understand how deep a loss you and your daughter have experienced, dear Beth. Now Lucky Lou Lou is still "lucky"..because "all dogs go to heaven"..but then so are you for having had the blessing of her companionship and friendship for so many years. My heart hurts for your loss. What a beautiful friend!

What a sweet picture of your adorable puppy-dog "LUCKY" My heart goes out to you. One thing that I find that helps me, is that you gave her a beautiful life, a life that she may have never had a chance at. In return you recieved unconditional love and happiness that will continue to live in your heart forever with all those beautiful memories. Take good care...DJ

It sounds like you gave her a good life.. one that she otherwise might not have had at all. I too prefer to rescue unwanted or abused animals when I can. But it is always so hard to say goodbye when their time comes. Thank you for sharing this moment with us. Such a sweet lady.. both of you. hugs
