I must be doing something very wrong because few of my renders take more than an hour...? Anyway, fantastic water - surface map could be improved.

What size and what quality do you render at? Plus what do you render on? I do 1024x768 with atmosphere and cloud quality set to max (that really slows it down) on a 450PII with only 128mb of ram. As far as the land map, I tried to make it look as much like an iceberg as possible
jeweldragon
very pretty hellmark good job:)

Great image Hellmark! I run a PII 333 with 256mb of ram and my longest render so far was under 4 hours. The cheapest thing you can do to speed up your machine is to max out the ram.

I am wanting to get money to upgrade everything on my computer, but the way I want costs 500 bucks and I dont have that much.

Brrrrrrrrrr- cool Hellmark!

128 chips are only 30 bucks now 20 after discounts if you find the right place.
Hellmark
Yes, but this mobo takes sdram and the one I am going to get takes ddr so it would be a waste.

another nice terragen pic, although the water doesn't look very transparent to me, it looks too plastic-y. Fix that and it will be great.
Hellmark
pixie, I have it that way cause its supposed to be iced over a bit and also the way the light is hitting it
DarkLimit
this scene looks heavenly, as pixe said the water should be a bit transparent; nevertheless. The sky looks amazing keep up the good work..

Wow! I love this image! I've never used terragen, and this is the first time in this gallery, and I'm just stunned! Beautiful!
DragonWalk
