Description

Welcome, and thanks for stopping in. Back at the beginning of 2003 I went through a few surgeries and so was laid up for several months. At that time I came across Renderosity and was always amazed at the artists and community here. I've always wanted to render and now that my latest computer purchase has brought me out of the dinosaur age my visiting galleries has been more a research of what software/program I might start with. I've been leaning towards Vue as that first. Some of the artists abilities in that genre are truly inspirational. Especially the nature and landscape images. It would probably be prudent of me to learn something more of rendering other than appreciating such...lol Viewing a talented Vue artists gallery this evening prompted this simple post. Patty's (psyoshida) image is much nicer. Thanks for the votes and comments on the last post. A kind thank you to those that added it as a favorite. Have a great weekend.

Oh, this is gorgeous! I love the pine, it adds a classic zen painting feel. I'd love to see it in Vue. Thanks for the mention, but my picture can't even compare to this. Superb shot!

A wonderful scene! They are most beautiful, with those unique and vibrant markings! Wonderful reflection captured... Seems like at least one of them knows where the money's at :)

Patty's work is always superb. So are your photos. I know nothing about rendering. I've sometimes wished I did so that I could make more intellegent comments. But my laptop is feeling the strain of PS so I'm afraid rendering is out of the question. I love this Kai image too. The Kai are so clear and the pine tree and reflections are wonderful!

Wow...this is a superb photo! I just ADORE koi...and I love seeing pictures of them since ours are now under a few inches of ice in the pond. I love the branches and the reflection they cast on the water...and it looks like the koi are saving their pennies for more koi food!

As for rendering: There are easier (and cheaper) ways to get into the experience. Many of the renders at this site made with Vue have a quality / ligthsetting, which give an atmosphere like in the old Flamish painters landscapes, but if it is landscapes you want, there is also Bryce (Bryce 5.5 is free) Myself, I won Carrara for participating in something on a website (can't remember what, probably a survey of a kind) and I use SketchUp, Hexagon an a few others, happily – though not always easily – exchanging files between them I work on a laptop with limited RAM and still can render complicated pictures. Did so on old dekstops too. Not all 3D programs require loads of RAM and speed, just patience.
