Description

I though I would post this for Melinda, mbz2662 I saw her post yesterday about seeing fall colors while she was in Wisconsin. I am also formerly from California, so when I first moved to Tennessee I was in awe at my first fall, I still am, it truly feels sometimes like you are driving through a picture it is so breathtaking. Growing up we had one tree in the front yard that would get some brown leaves on it and that was autumn in Southern California that and wind and fires lol, other than that all the other trees in the yard which include everything from plum trees to palm tree kept their colors. So what a change to move here and see the first winter when just about every thing goes dormant I thought all my plants had died.. lol boy what a surprise when spring got here. Well now a day from the official start to winter, but I think its already here we had some snow last night, with more expected tonight. My daughter kept opening the patio door last night and going out onto the deck to see the snow falling, so that was fun to watch her excitement. Melinda my friend I hope you enjoy this one, and please check out the beautiful work in her gallery. Happy weekend to you all. And I got through my test just waiting to hear the results. Thanks to those of you that have sent site mails and asked. Wishing you all happy holidays. thumb_1990824.jpg

I moved to London Kentucky this past July from Ohio and even though both states have a pretty autumn I noticed that the area of Kentucky I moved to is much prettier in autumn and it lasts longer. I live in the Daniel Boone National Forest, actually 20 miles west of the town of London, so there are trees all around us here. Autumn is my favorite time of the year, I love the smell of the leaves, the crackling under my feet... I had to laugh when you said that you thought all your plants had died, I wish someone would have caught your expression when you saw them coming back in the spring, that would have been a Kodak moment!

Blood-red leaves...what an awesome treat for the eyes, coming from the country of 'evergreen trees'. Nice dedication... BTW, may your one and only Christmas wish come true, my wish for you! Cheers BB
