Well, as I see it, pain is better than lack of feeling... But I wish you JOY at this time of the year...

Excellent representation of the burn and radiation and eventual burn out or charred feeling that pain creates. My Achilles tendons and surrounding areas can relate to this right now. Well done!

I can see I'm catching up in semi-chronological order...but really, in your gallery, anywhere one stops they'll find a deep journey. This is a strong evocation of the vortex of pain. (And if Cathy relates to it, from her achilles tendons, then it's really speaking the truth.) The ganglia all twisted as they are, moving around that central red nexus: I suppose that's as evocative of pain as an image can get. But the charred lines (to use cathy's words) are also evocative of pain--not just the pain itself but the exhaustion coming from carrying it all the time. An organic, layered tapestry evocative of nerve lines and their transmissions, with intense use of hue to capture the intensification that pain causes, and open space on the left as if this were a candid shot of ganglia that could grow or morph as they need to. Powerful & evocative, a fine visualization, Mandi.
