Description
Volcanic ash gives this Black Fire Opal it's diverse colors , although a delicate , brittle stone some larger pieces may not be as highly polished .
Modeled in Cinema4D 11 rendered in AR3.Stone mats were compiled within Body Paint.If you care to you may want to click to a larger view for the detail!

Man, That is so awesome! It looks like a real good photo. I hope someone is creating them from your model. Also, thanks for the comment on the truck I uploaded. I have 15 views so far. As I come from the land of Opals, can't say I've ever seen or heard of this impressive looking re-creation, but then again I don't do any fossicking or rock collecting...go figure ! Thank you for the positive feed back although not a big popular subject matter in most CG galleries ,this piece has slightly rounded edges and a kind of aero dynamic feel and at times a bit offset in design , this is the newest trend on most jewel sites .Again thanks .

Beautifully conceived and sculpted. It's one of those designs where the setting really is tailored to the shape of the stone - a real one-off! I'm not sure if it's the aerodynamics that make it so good, I think it's the flowing plant lines that give it life. The profile of the set serves to give it a "feel". Brilliant.
