Objective: Illustration and explanation are key. I want to be able to develop a number of small interactive worlds with high detail, multi-physics simulation and completely insightful GUIs on the Computer. Artist Illustrator. Graphic Designer. Cartoonist. Packaging. Animator. Mac Developer since 1985. Developer for UNIX/Linux since 1980. Web Developer. What a wonderful composition! Light and texturing are well settled! I can also add a cat walking on the railing

Terrific work as always. Cheers

Good composition - however the Trees, Grass/Reeds look a little on the large size. Archictecturally the bridge support seems to be cut from a single piece of stone - in reality this would have been made up so blocks with a Key Stone. And as Vasquez has noted adding someform of "Life" such as a cat, or a bird ot two in the trees or even fish in the water would give this more animation and life. If you have a "Photoshop" type application you might like to consiser some post production work - particularly on the shadows - which are a little bit harsh. Nevertheless this is a good render.

uh.. u need to get your textures to blend together into one theme..cuz right now ones marble.. ones stone.. another one is wood.. and a fish? use poser and stick a deer or something in the streem.. that would really give it an lifelike appearance.

this is excellent...worth the effort!!!!

I think this is very well done, particularly in terms of lighting. I do agree with others about working the textures a little. A segmented marble texture on the bridge arch and railing would eliminate that one-piece look.

thanks for your excellent comments - i agree 100%, will make another attempt soon. i'll rescale the grass, maybe add some more. change the texture and mapping on the single big arch, and reconsider the sky. i think i can create a nice fish, but an egret would be way cool!, a deer - now that's interesting, he would be dead meat in china! :) some chinese folks, in period costumes perhaps, oooh even mounted on trusty steeds or in a sedan chair, the preferred transport for royalty! but not tourists with cameras. thanks to all. hope you are not tired of this pic, check back in a week or so.

Hmmm, I think its perfect! - I love your stunning composition like that as it am, but its right: there are innumerable possibilities of a change or an addition of it with security!! - - However: we will look all the fantastic variations of your moat, friend!!! :-)

James it's coming along really nicely. I checked out your wire frame too and you've got some nice tidy work happening there.
