Hi Everyone! When I came back from my father, my high-rise had a fire! No one was hurt, however we lost electricity about 19 gazillion times, and getting online has been like climbing Mt. Everest. So please forgive me for not visiting any of you--I will as soon as our building behaves! (I'm uploading this from a neighbor's apartment.) 3 views of my neighborhood, from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Basic postwork, incl monotone. Hope you enjoy the view!

span of about a month...thats Chicago...much like here in Ohio hang around long enought and you'll get 3 different seasons of weather in a month! The one tree is hanging desperately to it's yellow autumn leaf dress and love the focus of the circular tree pattern under the wet blanket of snow. The pumpkins in the window box you've captured the holidays well dearheart! Your walkabout the neighborhood in all directions captured. Time to tuck in with a firelight glow and glad the Building wasn't damaged long term.

Remarkably sharp, crisp and clear. Like your inclusion of sepia, black & white and color...all inclusive:-) We have two or three large brick homes here with corner turrets similar to the large brick home in your third image...all built in the 1890s. Heard about your upstairs fire...sure glad you weren't among those burned out. And the happiest of holidays to you too Mark. May your internet return soon:)

I love the sharpness of this, and as I've just had a conversation with Victor, I'm tempted to say something he'd say, when expressing approval in that rather understated way he's so good at. So in the name of understatement, I'll say: "This photos is enough good." It doesn't quite sound the same when I say it, and well...typing it tends to remove some of the quirky charm that the statement is intended to possess...but hey, there it is. I love all of these views, the subtle details that each of them reveals. This is fantastic work. Your neighborhood has some wonderful architecture, and you capture it superbly! I'm happy you weren't burned out of your home, and that no one was hurt. This is wonderful work, and I'm happy to see it. I have to catch up (and I have to be up by 6am tomorrow, so I suspect that catching up will occur later, but I at least wanted to comment on this lovely triptych. It's fantastic.

Shades of the 1974 movie, The Towering Inferno! Luckily eluding a life-threatening fire. You live a hazardous existence, indeed. As for the above troika of holiday photos, most lovely, not contaminated by humans, but, other than the pumpkins in the top shot, I really can't distinguish between them and a normal, non-holiday day, Mark. Although, I like the lighting in the bottom shot.

What a gorgeous neighborhood you live in. I like the three photos combined to show the seasons, and the various techniques you used. I especially love the tree lined path with the snow. They are all lovely shots and it's fun to see your part of the world. I hope the fire damage will be resolved soon. I'm so thankful you weren't hurt.

Beautiful images! The first one makes me think of afternoons, sitting on the stoop and lazily talking as the world passes by. The monotone is great and adds to that feeling. I love the light and shadows of the last one. Lovely colors and clarity. The second one though! That draws my deep attention. I love trees, with one exception which I won't name except to call it "the Adversary, Destroyer of Kings, Angel of the Bottomless Pit, Great Beast that is called Dragon, Prince of This World, Father of Lies, Spawn of Satan, and Lord of Darkness." That's actually a quote from "Good Omens" by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, about the Antichrist, (a very funny book about Armageddon) but it seems to fit a certain pollen spewing tree around here too. But to get back to the second picture and the beautifully captured tree in it. It is the tree, close to the center of the picture that drew my first attention, but the entire image is wonderful. It gives me such a strong desire to walk that pathway, encased in many layers of clothing, of course. I love the shapes made by the snow covered branches on the prominent tree, the way the path curves invitingly and the B&W colors that add to the magical wintry feel!
