Description

This Christmas group, placed on top of a hall cabinet is a gypsum copy of my late mothers original. I had to restore it for my brother, who inherited it 13 years ago. So I’ve restored it and copied it 3 times, one for my daughter, (where two little sculptures already lost there head – grandchildren!) one for us, and one, not painted, for sale. In this point of view we hope its grandchild proof. Hope you like it Take care, have a wonderful day, and thanks for your support and kind comments you’ve gives me on my previous postings. It’s so inspiring! Also thanks to everyone who added my work as there favorite!s

Merry Christmas, belatedly. I know it was a wonderful celebration with family, and those beautiful grandkids! A marvelous Christmas image, another that could become a Christmas Card!

Nice little crib set, my friend. My father bought similar figures about 55 years ago. My twin and I helped make a cave out of chicken wire and black and grey crepe paper, and hung the angel using a bent wire coat hanger. My children inherited the crib. Being retired, these days, I carry out voluntary work in my church and whether plaster ( hal life size ) or resin one fifth size ) I get to repair, repaint, do major surgery on them etc, every year, when we dig them out of wherever they have been stored. Double skin cardboard cases and lots of bubble wrap don't make much difference to their resultant state. There is always a fugure or two to fix. I've carried out repairs and painting on a 1960s era resin, half lifesize virgin and child set in our presbytery garden. Acrylic seems to have weathered quite well. Warm regards, as our cold snap ( worst for about 20 years ) continues in Scotland, John.
