Description
Well, according to my source in the Forest, strange and magical things happen at Christmas among the trees and fairies. The Fairies and elves have been working overtime this Christmas to get things ready and decorated for the holiday. A lot of them have been down with the flu and it has been very hectic, but they have gotten it done. Nothing can stop a fae at Christmas.
The most exciting event is the coming of the Santa Mouse, stop laughing, you've never heard of the Santa Mouse? Please don't say that too loud near a Forest Fairies. Well...the fairies after making all the toys and wrapping the gifts go down to the old dock and magically load the Christmas Leaf Boat with all the Christmas goodies, from Christmas Snoodles to spun Christmas Tumble candies known for their lightness, they have been known to float into the winter night, if you don't have them in a closed container.
Santa Mouse then heads up the Blue River and at the stroke of midnight on Christmas, starts his trip to deliver the Christmas goodies. Or so I have been told. If you go down past the old pier and if you can get through the snow without making a sound, turn left at the old oak and walk about 40 paces, any further and you'll be in the Blue River, that is Moose's Mound. Hide behind the bushes and if you are really lucky you will see the Santa Mouse... maybe. He is very sensitive to noise, he has big ears to hear the slightest rustle of a leaf, a nose that is so sensitive it can smell acorns roasting a half mile away, though his eyes are small, they are like a hawk's and can see any movement at 50 paces, so you must be very quiet or else all you will see is a flash and he will be gone. Poof! And all you'll have for your trouble is wet clothes.
But not to worry, even if you don't see him, he will have come to your door and left a gift or a star on your doorstep. The star is a wish that has be granted and you will never will know when the wish will go into effect, but you must believe...
