I may be wrong, but I feel something svankmajeresque in your compositions. I love them.

This is superb! The title is wonderful. My grandmother always told me that death comes in threes. I'm reminded of a seance conjuring up the ghosts of human history.

I'm finally coming back to all the galleries, and tonight I'm only leaving one comment per, so I can visit everyone after such a long absence. But I'll be back for more, as my mandi marathons have always been memorable. But I chose this not because it's about the holidays, but because it's one of your many amazing sides. You have old cartoon figures on top---strong outlines, the graceful curves, the big eyes & of course old costume, very much stuff of the old funny pages. You have the old print (and cloud background) for "free speech," etc. Those goddess like women typical of late 1800s, early 1900s (we even saw them on soap ads, etc.) Then Oswald, I believe; three protagonists from old comics on each side & above; old exercise figures, and on and on. Amazing conglomeration of images only you do & compile, with (as one comes to expect from you) your usual historical figures: a split Josef Stalin I believe, 3 women who look like they're from armenia or some other eastern european land (maybe afghanistan), even a head from one of the old Japanese prints on top, also in threes. And your usual deftness in putting them altogether into a pageant, a design, and even an old-style academic demonstration. How you combine all those I don't know, but it feels effortless in your hands. And of course it has the yellowed hues & textures of an old scrapbook; and you even allow tears (as in "to tear open") in the ground in spots. Wonderful work, always imaginative, and reminding me once again that to come here is to step into your universe wholly, which is deep, rich & amazingly inventive. A very happy New Year to you, Mandi and many more. I'll be back for more after the holiday.
