Description

Something new at my house. Got something called a Solartube installed to bring daylight into my windowless bathroom off the main hallway. The frame on the far right shows the "lens" in my ceiling without editing where the daylight comes in and gets scattered about. Other images have tints added using Photoshop. I am woefully behind on comments...I'll get to yours...honest:-))) Please ZOOM...left it very BIG. Bill:) "Please Mister" thumb_1995375.jpg

Wow, facets, flares and refractions galore in this cool collage, Bill! Solartube looks and sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie.

I've always wanted one of those. I used to work for a woman who had one in her kitchen, and I was forever trying to turn the light off. They work that well!! Great shots---Solartube as we've never seen them!1

I've got one of these in a hall bathroom, too. I've groggily got up to turn the light off a few times when the moon is full.

I've seen them put one of them in on a TV show, great way to bring light in to dark parts of the house. Fantastic collage! :)

Oh my. This is like a candy store for my eyes! Just LOOK at all that glass, all those angles. Wow. Don't ever let me in that bathroom ... I might never come out! I'd have to put a cot underneath this thing and lie around taking pictures up at the ceiling at all hours of the day and night just to see what would happen. Too bad I have an upstairs neighbor ... I don't think he would appreciate me putting one of these in! Did I remember to tell you how much I like this? Can we see more?

Very beautiful. I'd be looking for other places to place it too. They even have a cool name. Sounds very futuristic.

LOL... when I saw the images I knew Tara would freak out about it!!! How amazing Bill! What a wonderful way of bringing light into a room! It surely is most wonderful and remind me of the light playing on diamonds! I love the postwork on the far left of the image! Perfecto my friend! :)

I love Tara's response! I love these things and yeah, the images here do have a kind of ultrasound quality to them...also kinda UFO-ish! Wonderfully seen. I like solar tubes...friends of mine in Prague have them, but they're more like fiber-optic things that just look like light panels, but they get pretty darn bright when the sun's out, and pretty darn bright when streetlights are on! It's a bit disturbing to be in a windowless room that doesn't get dark! This is wonderful. I like the complexity and the wonderful forms within forms...and from someone who studied echocardiography, I can tell you that I keep looking at the sepia-toned piece and looking for mitral vegetation, aortic regurgitation, or some other oddity of the heart. THAT is a good thing though! I love this!

Well, whatever it is I want one! Only the room in question is on the ground floor so I supposes that's fruitless. SO interesting, and it's made a wonderful image!
