Excellent postwork Nikolay! Is this two images combined? What ever you have done, it worked! I love the brilliance of the sudden sunlight! :)

Are those overhead or over-street signs advertising after Christmas sales specials? Always fine postwork.

I live where Denise lives, and yes ... this is a very common thing we see here! The intense glare of sunlight when everything is wet is beautiful, but quite shocking! I love the result you got with this.

Great shot. Has a nice "turn of the century" look to it.

I never cease to be drawn into the vortex of your photographic journeys. I know the light here, esp in the winter; and i Know how intense it can be--almost obliterating in fact. But you've made a soliloquy of it, a visual poem, and transformed it as you do in so many of your images. Genuine clarity here Nikolay, but it's undercut by the overlay of several images; and that undercut creates a sharp set of contrasts between clarity and ghost-images, clarity and transparent images, clarity & muddles, clarity & memory. "Memory" because your work has a way of invoking genuine memory, reaching for unnamables, etc. etc. Also, getting the 'shimmer' on edges, as you do here, isn't hard by itself: But you have a way of doing it in remarkable balance with everything else--that's the hard part. Balance because the cars, for instance, are so pronouncedly dark, which contrasts with the shimmery whites of the building-edges. And I like how your midground trees seem almost 'whispered' into the shot, as if you blended in a shot of this street before cars & bldgs even existed. But then you often create the feeling of melded time zones...You know, now that I have a camera (and btw--i'm interrupting the comment!--thank you so much for your kind comments on my first efforts, I hardly feel I deserved them believe me! they only make me want to learn & do so much better!), I can appreciate the complexity of your work all the more. Ie, the sharpness of your original captures, and your masterful postwork. I'm able to better see what you're doing; and it only enhances my love for your work, not take away from it. Here, your sepias intensify towards the front into heavy saturated blacks; and the white in the back is all-dissolving: The final balance & flow in this complex image. I've lost words in your gallery for a few weeks, because of my having a camera (it just changes how I see your work); but now they're coming back to me again. So give me a little more time, I'll be commenting here as I can speak about your work more. But I consider you a master at what you do, and what we see from you is a spark of genius. I hope your New Year was wonderful & I wish you a radiant & brilliant 2010.

A feeling, a neverending view, Nikolay...and suddenly, they almost are in my desk! Superb work.

This is intense and gorgeous and I love every element of this. My mind goes off in oddly mundane directions at times and one of the first things I noticed was that something is available (at the time of this photograph) at a 50% discount? I love the architecture, the light/shadow balance and the elegant form this entire capture of the world takes. As always, wonderful and timeless work.
