Description

One of the tunnels in Bad Durrnberg salt mine in Hallein, Austria, November 2009. The mine has been operating for some years as a popular tourist mine/attraction. In near-darkness it seems that tunnels stretch into the underground infinitely. Thank you for viewing and commenting :) EDIT: of course, it's November 2009, not 2010 as I first typed... (a day of planning future activites results in one getting lost in time, lol).

If you look intently for sometime you get drawn into it's depth. Nice capture.

my family worked the salt mines under the Great Lakes for nearly 30 years but no one was allowed down there but the workers. I would have loved to have seen it. Everyone of them got out though. Too many accidents scared them out of the ground. Great shot.
