It looks like some places in northeastern Arizona. It has a big sweep feel to it and one could imagine a cold bitter wind picking up speed and a bitter bite as it wipped unimpeeded across this barren landscape.

I too saw snow in the desert once...it was in Arizona...it was strange and marvelous but let me tell you your image is even more beautiful. Happy New Year to you too.
