Description

Hello everyone and thanks for looking... This is another picture of the submarine Seaview from the old T.V. show "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea". I modeled and rendered the sub using Vue Esprit 7. Here, the Seaview is being 'depth charged' with underwater bombs, something which seemed to happen every other couple of episodes on the show. Although wildly improbable and scientifically inaccurate, I watched this show, along with reruns of "Star Trek", "Time Tunnel", "Space 1999" and "Land of the Giants" when I was a boy. It must have left an impression on me, because I joined the Navy when I grew up and spent over 20 years as a Submariner. To the folks who regularly look in on my posts, sorry I haven't been putting up new pictures or commenting regularly, but I've been on vacation, visiting family for the holidays. I'll try to catch up over the next couple of weeks. I hope everyone has been enjoying their holiday seasons as well. Take care, and see you round the sites. Tom Seaview123

Watched some of the same stuff meself...;) One thought;maybe make the front ports transparent slightly, and put a point light (or whatever Vue calls it) inside, might make for an interesting picture, especially against the darkness... Great pic, keep 'em coming.

I think you just listed all the most inspiring stuff for sure. Cool sub, I remember that Maya chic from Space 1999 thinking every week - ooh what's she going to turn into now and will she be so scary that I can't even watch the TV! Good stuff and thanks for invoking a heap of memories that made me smile when I most need it - too deep?

You didn't mention Batman.... Yeah, the old Batman series had a movie and Batman was depthcharging the Penguines sub - I think they even used "ZAP" and "POW" wording when it went off = lol

Great shot of the Seaview. I can just imagine them running from side to side (sometimes not too convincingly lol!). Very nice work on the depth charge.
