Hi there.
The 3rd last picture of the larva, try to get a shot of the pupa in the next days. I#m at work the last day this year - next is the 4th of January.
As I try to get her walking she entrenched itself as a little furry ball. Really sweet. The next shot will show you her feet and the last one a view from the front side.

A self preservation instinct no doubt, quite an interesting specimen for sure! I seriously think you should submit some of these photos to some scientific stock photo sites, they are really above and beyond a lot of the photos they have, and you could certainly profit from it!

What an intriguing creature. I discovered last summer that we have these in Chicago...they're not native to the region. They're extravagant creatures and endlessly beautiful. Wonderful work!
