Description

This is Pooper, my constant companion for fifteen years. When she passed on two years ago, I was so heartbroken that I decided I couldn’t suffer that loss again. I was never going to have another dog. As time passed I came to understand, because of the unconditional love that defined who she was, and which forever changed me, that I had to have another dog. About a year after her death, I found just the right puppy in need of rescue. Tomorrow I will introduce my new friend.

Oh, I am so glad you decided to invite a new friend into your life...one may never replace Pooper but I'm sure she'd want you to find a new friend for company. Hopefully I get to see our new friend tomorrow.

Pooper was a lucky lady to be so loved and this is a beautiful portait. So glad you decided the time was right to get another dog, I'm sure you will give them the same love and understanding and in return they will be mans best friend and faithful companion. Happy New Year to you and your new puppy

I am sure Pooper wouldn't have wanted you to remain dogless, look at the wisdom in that face. Pooper isn't replaced, you just have a new friend to share your life with. Looking forward to the pic!!!!

Gorgeous portrait! I have had 17 rescue dogs so far. I don't wait to get another after a death, as my remaining dogs need the company as well as me! (You can see mine on my homepage if you are interested)

I'm sure in her mind she'd want you to share you love and unselfishness with a new pup as you do with your black pup! If only all dogs had great homes!! =)

Pooper was a beautiful and was lucky to grow old being so loved. We have a golden Labrador Retriever Ben, he will be 6 this year and I dread the day we have to say goodbye. Thank you for sharing this picture with us.

Very sad loss, one does not get over the loss only how to live with it, remembering all the good times and the wonderful photographs, that's the immortal legacy she leaves you knowing that it's seven years to every one of our years. It's undoubtedly the only bad part of owning a beloved pet who is indeed part of the family.
