Description

We're leaving the Year of the Ox and we're entering the Year of the Tiger.... Even if the Chinese year starts a bit later than ours, that is between January and February, I was intrigued by this idea for a New Year's Eve card for all of you, my dearest friends. Tiger people are sensitive, given to deep thinking, capable of great sympathy. Attention, however:they can be extremely short-tempered. Other people have great respect for them, but sometimes tiger people come into conflict with those in authority. They are courageous and powerful, but should avoid hasty decisions. Before 2010, other Years of the Tiger were 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998. Thank you for your kind comments.

a witty & playful way to bring in the year of the tiger mixed with our new year. I love the woman looking at her watch, and the other two as well; and the real and the apparition-like tiger (one body, one spirit maybe!) as well as your crouching ox who's fading into the landscape. Nice snow shot too. It's nice to bring in another culture to this day, given that western New Year has, in many places, turned into a simple opportunity to drink & scream alot (lol). As for the tiger's nature, 2010 sure feels like a year of the tiger, I mean everywhere--it sure does in the US, which feels like it's on some crazed brink. I like that you speak of tiger people, because it has a native-culture feel to it, since so many native cultures refer to animals, trees, the sun, etc as 'people'. A nice confection of cultures. If I didn't say it before, a wonderful & illumined New Year to you & I hope it brings you tons of inspirations...
