Description

Strange reports have been surfacing in Southern California today. Sightings of fire hydrants in the most unusual places have been reported to the police, city councils and especially to the fire department. Jon Palmer had this to say, "Well, I was surfing. There was this absolutely stunner of a wave coming right for me. I haven't seen one that big since...What? Oh yeah, well anyway, I felt something nudge my board and then I saw this red head. And I swear, it turned and looked at me. Well, after I caught that wave, I went straight in and told the authorities." These ordinary looking fire hydrants have also been spotted moving across lawns, according to Mrs. Finkelspout, who said, "I was out weeding the bed and I kept thinking I saw something red, out of the corner of my eye, like. I looked around and there was a fire hydrant right next to the geraniums. I looked around to find George and when I looked back, dang if it wasn't over next to the shed. That ain't right. Fire hydrants shouldn't ought to do that. So I went in and gave my council woman a right talking to." The Haskervar's house was burn to the ground, when twice fireman prepared to attach their hoses to a fire hydrant, only to have it give a shrill shriek and escape into the distance. Fortunately no one was harmed in the blaze, though Mr Haskervar stated, "I intend to sue, just as soon as I can figure out who to sue! Since many of the pseudo fire hydrants were seen leaving the ocean, it is believed that they are aliens whose ship has crashed into the sea. All citizens are asked to keep a look out. Any fire hydrants that don't appear to be in there customary spot, should be recorded, preferably photographed and the information given to local authorities. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARRY!

And down the counterclockwise whirlpool they go! Super thanks for this birthday dedication, Lucinda! It is an offering appreciated beyond the comprehension of most mortals. Terrific effects and textures in this stellar bit of digifiddling postwork (liquify?) concept, and I love the accompanying, and amusing, interview items hot off the news wires. You have quite a humorous imagination. And, I had forgotten that I also include fire hydrants in my eclectic array of photo objects. A few of those hydrants look like the old traditional kind. I believe I still have some hydrants that I haven't posted in my files.

It seems the space aliens have gotten serious about their invasion. Can the pseudo dogs be far behind? Excellent post work and cool effects.

First of all Lucinda this is so beyond cool and gave me a bit of a smile to go to bed with. Love the idea here and the twists and turns of the story as it develops all the way to it being aliens ;)Just to be safe I've got my eye on one down the street from me thanks to you.
