Description

I am sitting here with mixed feelings as 2009 is breathing it's last stutterings breaths... In many ways it was an "Annus Horribilis" for me and I must admit that I do not mind to see the hind end of it. The problem is just that so much hurt and pain will be carried with us into the new year... and much of it is so completely unnecessary! My wish though is that the light will shine on you and me in 2010! May it be a happy, healthy, creative and blessed year for us all! Thank you for all your love and support during this year! Love, Carin xx Image: Namibia, Mar 2009. Postwork in CS4.

A beautiful picture... I can agree with you, Carin, in many ways.... But, not in one important one! I will see what 2010 brings indeed... I hope, truly hope, for the best.... And for you, the same... Rob

2009 brought me both great joy and great pain, so there are parts I would like to hold and parts I would let go. I feel like 2010 is a new beginning in many, many ways. One thing I know for sure ... during the 365 days of 2010, you and I will always have each other, no matter what else is going on. Ek het jou baie lief, Dierbaar ... :X:X

Magnificent work and message Carin! I too had mixed feelings, actually from November to the end of the year. The year already feels better to me, leaving some sad things behind, emerging with my beautiful friends from that darkness to light...I so appreciate your friendship, love your work and look forward to a creative and Happy New Year with you. Thank you so much for your beautiful comment on my lily, I am proud to join hands with you to try and make a difference! Much love, light and blessings your way!!! ((((((Carin))))))

Happy New year to you and yours, Carin! It's all in us that we carry along from year to year and my wish to all of us is to learn how to live here and now as the only way to get rid of all those impediments attributed to 2009, even though it's not that easy at times.

it's amazing how many people have also had painful 2009s. I guess a number of us are in the same boat. And we all look forward to a more radiant 2010. I hope you have just that...and seeing some of the comments (like tara's beautiful affirmation), I know some people will help you achieve it. This image is beautiful: it's dark, but it's luminous, your postwork gives a wonderful blue-silver sheen to it, and it shines from within. And the composition has fine proportions too: The sweep is enhanced by your larger proportioned sky to the land & water. The sun/moon casts a mysterious glow across part of the land & water, and it's like omens of light to come. I wish you a much better 2010, and that those you love fill you with whatever light you can't provide yourself (it's always a many-way street), and that you find light where you can no longer make it for yourself. Let the world bathe you where you can't, and I hope your light---which I've seen several times & certainly heard about!---shines beautifully for others too. Beautiful image and an honest one too. Happy New Year, Carin. And many more!
