Description

The snow we had on the 18th December had partially melted then the weather turned cold again and it froze. For a couple of days, conditions were very slippery then we had a fresh fall of snow. At the same time, the river in the Lock Cut started to freeze. I just couldn't resist a shot as the water froze - the patterns in the ice were quite eye-catching. And, as can be seen, it was snowing as I took this one. :-) Have a really good and happy New Year. ------------------------------------------ Original Photograph 21-Dec-2009

Beautiful. I have never seen anything like it. And so the fish just swim along under the ice then?
