Description

An Except from my story of the rebel Drow Household Kult'ressin. Prince Aero stood as the medic healed the wound from the arrow. He barely even noticed it he was so flush from his encounter with the forest elves, until it was mentioned by one of the soldiers. To have captured 'The Archives of life' so early in the game was a major coup for the Ilythiiri.. "It is healed." spoke the elder drow. Dismissing him with a wave Aero walked to the widow and looked out at Velkyn Taur (the Hidden forest). It was beautiful in its never changing twilight, and he breathed deeply its air. "Ahem...." Turning around he was greeted by a soldier that he had waiting. "Sir, Rumors are abounding that the Forest elves have fallen. The last attack on them appears to have been more than they could handle. Aero frowned at the news "Are we sure of this? "Yes the Forest Elves are no more." "Has there been word of Forest Lord? Is he dead?" The Drow Soldier shifted uncomfortably. "There has been no word of his state, dead or alive my prince." "Send scouts out to scower the realms. If he is alive bring him to me, and if he is dead...bring me his head." As the soldier left Aero turned back to the window, the beautiful twilight had taken on a decidedly ugly cast. "This happened to quickly," he thought "the defeat of ones enemy should be a feast to savor. So there had to be something else going on. The Lord of the Forest Elves was/is a wily adversary, and as long as he remained loose or alive he was a threat." "Ahhh well," he moaned as he tied his Silver hair back into a ponytail. "On to more personal matters." Opening a pouch on his side, he drew out a Amythist gemstone, it was round with carvings on it that made it look like an eye. It had cost him 5000 gps, and would cost him 10,000 more, but it would be worth it. Legend has it that these types of stones held great power, the power of 'Sight', and if that was true that power would be his. Following the instructions given him Prince Aero had killed several demonic creatures. And now he placed the stone in their blood. Suddenly strapping on his weapons and traveling cloak he strode out the door. The guards snapped to attention as he passed. Moving as if possessed he traveled quickly to a preplanned meeting with a witch woman who was supposed to give him the key to the power of sight. Prince Aero slowed as he approached the meeting place. a woman sat in a shack watching as he neared. Aha.... All hail the conquering hero, the desolator of the forest elves." she said mockingly. He hesitated. "Surely you are not afraid of an old woman." "It is a fool that runs blindly into the unknown" he replied "and i am not that..." She chuckled slightly in a mock bow..."My apologies Prince Aero d'Mirshann d'l'Kult'ressin. I shall not make that mistake again...please come in." Prince Aero's eyes narrowed as she spoke his full name. "And how is it you know of me?" "I know many many things of you, and your family...But that is not why you are here, is it now? "No. You know why i am here." "So, do you crave the power i can give?" Handing her the pouch with the 10,000 gold in it. She inspected it and placed it in her tattered robes. "Who are you woman? What is your name?" " Give me the Bloody Eye Stone." she directed ignoring his questions. He gave her the pouch filled with the blood of 5 demons, and she pulled it out and inspected it. Then she greedily drank the blood in the pouch, smacking and licking her lips when she finished. "So you would know my name little Prince?" she said mockingly as she walked up to Aero. Her breath smelled of death. She then rubbed some of the blood that was left in the pouch on her fingers and moved her hand to Aero's face. At which point he grabbed her wrist. "What are you doing creature?" "I am granting you power. Is that not what you wish?" Prince Aero stared at the woman's face. She was neither ugly nor beautiful. However, something about her set his nerves on edge. "A gift then before i start...she breathed. The book you have 'The Archives of Life' the one that you captured from the Forest Elves, is but a copy...The original was hidden by the elven lord." Releasing her wrist Aero gripped the handle of his sword. "How do you know such things woman" he hissed. Do not question how i know, just be glad that i do. Oh, and my name... is Etharas (Lolth). And before he could say anything else, the woman gouged out his right eye, and dropped it to the floor. She then slammed the 'Bloody Eye Stone' into the gaping hole, laughing hysterically. A stunned Prince Aero screamed, then fainted, as blood poured from the socket with the bloody stone in it. When he awoke the shack was gone. ************************************ The Temple was at least half a days walk on foot. Seraphim looked up at the moon and sighed. Turning to the two riders on his horse Czar He spoke. "We should make camp for the night. It will give us some time to rest, and you can tell me the story concerning the carnage we left behind." "Do you think that wise Sir Knight?" replied the beaten elf lord, Looking about. "I would rest much easier in the security of the Temple walls, There is an ill wind tonight." Seraphim pulled his traveling cloak tighter "maybe you're right..." And continued walking. Aero stumbled back to the hidden forest. The pain had ebbed, but his anger hadn't. Rage filled his every fiber. How dare that cow lay a hand on me, he thought. He suspected that something was different, wrong, but couldn't put a finger on it until it was too late. "Etharas," He thought to himself, "That great bitch of the Drow race, she who hobbles their glory." Straightening himself as he approached the guards, Aero walked past them without a word. A sharp intake of air from one of them brought Prince Aero back to the moment. "Pretty isn't it?" he said, "No, I mean..." was the reply "You don't find it beautiful?" he asked as he pirouetted, arms outflung. And drawing his stilleto as he spun around, Prince Aero plunged it into the terrified guard's throat. Holding the guard close, he watching as his last breath left his body. Then and only then, did Prince Aero seem to relax. Calling over the other, now nervous guards, he ordered them to take the dead body outside and leave it for the wolves. Walking inside to astonished gasps, he sat down on his throne. "Bring me a mirror, and get Lenario for me." A handmaiden brought the mirror, with her head down afraid to look directly into his face. When she turned to leave he bade her to stay. As he looked at his reflection in the silver mirror. "I have a task for you," Don't be afraid, Maraa'th, make for me an eye patch." Prince Aero looked at his once flawless face. And laughed. "An eye for an eye" It functioned perfectly, he could see everything that was going on around him. And outside the compound, if he concentrated. "What have you done to yourself my lord". Aero knew the confident tone was from only someone who knew him well. The Warlord Lenario frowned as he looked at what was done. His Elven features exaggerated his frown. "You should have allowed me to go with you, At least i could have protected you." "No my friend, You would have been killed. This is the handy work of the Demoness Etharas!" Lenario's scowl deepened. "Etharas? She would dare? She must be getting desperate." "It probably wasn't Etharas herself, but one of her chosen, but that matters little. At least I did gain the power of sight." "But at what cost?" "Ahhh My friend... that is exactly why I called you, the price. Take your men, go out, and bring to me the right eye of every one of her chosen that you can find. A fair exchange, no?" The Warlords Laughter made the rats scramble into their holes in fright. I got it in.. Last image of this decade. And a story to start off the new decade
