A beautiful neighborhood of old buildings and iron railings. Excellent captures of atmosphere and light. The first thing I noticed on the first one was the wonderful perspective and depth, with the sidewalk making a vanishing point. Then I thought of knees, and backsides, and walking very carefully. Beautiful iron railings, branches reaching across the sidewalk and across the road, and warm slivers of light in the distance. I like the cool whitish, blue of the building on the right, which mirrors the ice and snow. The second image is a wonderful play of contrasts. Not only the contrast of dark and light in the trees and railings against the snow, but also the difference of this strongly contrasted foreground and the softly glowing pastels of the buildings in the distance. Distance and sunlight, have softened the buildings into a lovely backdrop for the strong lines and dramatic color of the trees (and detail of the nearest tree) and railings. I like the burst of strong color too in the red and yellow cars and the signs. I love the monochrome in the third one. It enhances the play of light and shadow on the buildings, branches, and road. The road is fascinating, with its variations of shade, due to wear, tracks, and light. Lovely detail, contrast, and light. The last one is the only one where the light seems to be making direct contact with the viewer, rather than being seen in the distance. It is in the air, brushing the leaves and bathing the sidewalk. I like the building sunk into the shadow of its rather domineering neighbor. Lovely composition, with elements that reinforce the idea of a quiet stroll. The silhouetted legs in the distance, the stairs, and the stepping stones, all make me think of walking. Thanks for this stroll though your neighborhood! It is a beautiful one!
