Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Lovely capture Marilyn yes these things come quite as a shock and it is hard to believe it has happened, just shows we can go at anytime and we need to be prepared.. we often hold onto things in this world that don't really matter in the end because we can't take things with us..

Beautiful illustration of all you put in your poem for JoAnn. I am hoping you will feel the weight of this loss lift off your shoulders very soon.

What a touching image, title, and tribute that you wrote for your friend. I send you my sympathy. I lost my sister-in-law one year ago today and it is so hard to believe it has been one year and yet it also seems like an eternity. This day carries mixed feelings for both of us.

I feel deeply for the loss you are feeling. Of course you speak of her as if she is not gone...she will never really be gone. I still speak of my lost ones as if they were still with me. Because the ones we care for never really leave us. Roses always seem to say it best. Amazing shot.

I once heard someone rather smart say that tears remind us that we can smile, and that they teach us how important happy times in the past are. I always feel like that whenever someone expresses grief over the loss of someone else. And this image captures that perfectly; there's sadness in its inherent meaning, but wow...the colors and the clarity, and the whole wonderful intensity of this is so vivid and alive. At times, life and death are exactly intertwined. This is wonderful, and it's the perfect dedication, because even though it's a marker of a dear friend passing, it's also an affirmation that the friendship remains. Wonderful, touching work!

Beautiful capture, color and dedi to your friend JoAnn. A Navajo elder once told me, that as long as someone remembers, her spirit will still walk among us. Your love for JoAnn will dojust that. Hugs! Dana
