Description

A mysterious fleet of B17's began to fly the skies of the world. They would appear out of nowhere. Evil intentioned people soon learned to fear their appearance. Stories soon spread far and wide that every time this fleet of planes appeared, there were massive disappearances of humans. The human survivors of these raids knew the truth, that the missing among them were the worst scum bags, the greediest of individuals amd the most mean hearted people around. On rare occasions, a squadron of fighter jets was able to be scramble into the air to challenge this fleet, but they always met with failure. Their best, most sophisticated weapons merely bounced off the fuselages of these vintage aircraft. If the humans only knew the truth, that these were beings from another planet on a mercy mission to try and salvage what they could of the best of humanity. With their highly evolved intelligence, they were easily able to grok (a term from book Stranger in a Strange Land, by Robert A. Heinlein) the true motives of any humans within a certain distance as they flew over the populace. As in the book, they sent the evil beings to their just deserts. The use of the vintage aircraft was a clever disguise to both throw the populations off at first and not arouse too much suspicion, and later to create a myth. A myth that good still prevailed somewhere and that the wrongs of the world could be corrected if only a change of heart could be instilled in the human species. Rendered in Bryce 6.3. B17 by mirith.
