Description

In my last image, I used Swidhelm's Dragon Rider Armor. I did not spend mas much time as I should have in the materials room and they came out all flat looking. Don't get me wrong the maps provided were top notch... but sometimes during the conversion from one version of poser to another something gets lost and needs to be adjusted. So here is the suit and armor all by it's self, after about an hour of making the adjustments in Poser Pro. I may go back and replace my first image with the new and improved materials settings, since I saved my scene. thanks for taking a look :]

The way the textures were originally created they use no reflection map at all. Only a very nice specular map. I turned up the specular value, connected it to a secondary specular and changed it color to darker gray, increased the bump value and added a gradient bump connection as well. This method makes the armor shine based on the light source ( Swidhelm's idea ) The increased bump helps give depth to areas out of the light that would normally appear flat and dull. I'm really happy with how it turned out, especially the backgound.. I may have to use it again for another image :]

I turned up the specular value, connected it to a secondary specular and changed it color to darker gray, increased the bump value and added a gradient bump connection as well. Ok what does that mean in english? For us less advanced users!!! LOLOL! Because i actually compared the two images and i see the diffeences, now i want to understand them better. Excellent image!
