Description

This is the cover for my next graphic novel, Echoes of Darkness, the long awaited sequel to Across the Universe. I'm working on the storyboards today and plan on starting the illustrations for Chapter 1 either today or tomorrow. I hope to have Chapter 1 finished by the end of the month if not sooner. This image was created in Poser 8 with very little postwork done. The lightsaber glow was achieved by two things: the glow on the body which is actually the sole source of light with the except of a specular spot above, was done using Poser 8's IDL system and some tricks I learned from RDNA's Global Illumination Studio. The blade itself is a prop of my creation with materials that mimic the look of a real lightsaber. NO POSTWORK ON THE LIGHTSABER OR THE GLOW! Outstanding image!! Excellent light effect from the lightsaber! It's not as easy to integrate a lightsaber into an image - and get it right - as it seems. You've pulled it off nicely!!
