Description

Worked a little on this shot to make it stand more out. A little moody, but I like it myself. :-) Thank you for your kind comments to my previous post and special warm thanks to those who added it to favs. :-D Have a great week. Grey, COLD weather :-/

excellent postwork, delicate but enough to coax the inner character out of the rose branch. And your b&w is beautiful and 'moody'. In this capture, the thorns look like little sail boats, or like the smokestacks on ocean liners. They're very expressive. And the background is faded just enough to be a "backdrop," but with the criss-cross of branches still very visible--which is nice. Somehow it's right for the weather in these parts: Dramatic & sharp with gray landscapes. Very fine work on a very simple thing. Perfect for b&w. (I never knew why we call it b&w, when it's grays as well. And it's not monotone either. Ah well. We get used to those terms & they stick...)

These look so sharp and I know they have a knack of leaping out at you as you pass but they are too lovely not to grow. An excellent photo.
