Description

Blists Hill which I have featured quite a lot of images from has seen two hundred years of heavy industry due to the mineral wealth which lies under its grounds. The first known industrial activity on the site was mining which began in the late eighteenth century. Many of the old buildings have been restored and this image shows on old winding engine house. In addition the partial reopening of a shaft originally sunk in the 1770’s. Was restored using a rescued engine from the Ironbridge, Milburgh Tileries the museum has been operating this exhibit almost everyday since 1973. The whole area is the birth place of the whole industrial revolution, and a must see if you are ever in the area in and around Telford.

Absolutely sharp, crisp and clear...everything looks in focus and when you like machinery like I do...this is what I like to see...for all the details. Neat indeed.

A great capture of this intrigueing machinery. Wouldn't it be great if they made things to last like that today.
