I was born and raised here in central Wisconsin, and always loved art. My high School art Teacher thought I should pursue it as a career, I decided not to, and have regretted that decision ever since. I stumbled across this site a few years back and became enthralled with all of the amazing artwork on display, I was in Nirvana, able to shed the days stress by viewing what everyone was doing. It didn’t take long before I started saving artists to my favorites, and in doing so, started to add stress back into my life. The list had grown so large, that it soon became impossible to always comment even with just a few words, for the work they all had posted.  So,…if you’re reading this and wonder as to why I don’t always remark on something you’ve done, it’s not because your talent or post wasn’t worthy, but simply because I don’t have the time. For that, I apologize most sincerely.
I am divorced, with three incredible children, my youngest is now seventeen, going on 28. I don’t think I’m going to allow her to date until probably her forties. I’m currently in a relationship, and have been for more than just a few years ( too long to not have a ring yet,….at least in her eyes. ), with the most amazing woman. It’s nice to feel loved and cared for, but I don’t feel as if I deserve her sometimes.
Cheri is a new member here, posting under elfin14doaks. It took me well over a year to get her to check this site and you all out, but now that she has, I think she's found her niche. Thank you all so much for welcoming and accepting her, I don't recall ever seeing her happier. I may have helped to create a monster though, used to be she rarely turned her computer on, now it's the first thing she does when she gets home. Her first endeavor, is to scan through all of her folders of photos, to try and find something worthy of you to post, then she'll spend hours going through the galleries, commenting on everything that catches her eye. You all have helped to create and instill a sense of purpose in her life,......for that I thank you!!
I’m hoping to finally be able to purchase that which I feel I need, in order to someday be able to start creating and posting art of my own. Until then, I really don’t feel as though I could ever be critical of anything someone posts here, it wouldn’t be fair, to not have exposed myself to the same. I love this community and the people in it, I don’t think it possible to find such a large and diverse group of caring and nurturing individuals anywhere else.
I came because of the art,……..but stayed because of you!!  Â

Awe, I remember the day fondly when these rings came to us, our own, our precious. Everyone on this site has become so precious to us. Their love and support helped us through a few of hopefully the most trying times of our lives. We can never repay you all enough. As for me when I told you I would stick by you no matter what and be here with you forever and as long as you want me to, I meant it.

Cool! Your version of the script is much nicer I'd say.

WOW! THAT ring! Funny how Elijah Wood starred in that trilogy and yet another movie based on a ring-induced quest. (Everything is Illuminated also featured a ring and Elijah Wood going far from home, complete with wonderfully eccentric travel companions, one of whom had a "miniature brother.") I love the concept behind this photo as well as its presentation. My feelings are the same. Renderosity is the most vibrant and diverse community I've been a part of, and the friends I have made here are second to none, especially those two way the heck up in Oshkosh. I love the light treatment here, but I've always loved low light veering towards the red end of the spectrum. Great work, and I'm more than glad that I saw it.

"And one ring to rule them all!" ...oh, sorry, I got carried away there. Nice looking photo, and thank you very much for the dedication.

Wonderful words and very generous. I have been following the adventures of Dave and Cheri these last six months or so and reading your words made me think of the word 'bashert', a Yiddish word that means "destiny". When applied to people it translates as "the person who completes you". It seems that, eight and one half years ago you met your 'bashert' and Cheri met hers. Dispite all the diffculties of the past year you are a lucky couple. I love 'second chance' stories and yours is an inspiration to all of us. So here's wishing you and Cheri a happy new year and thank YOU.

I love LotR! I well remember a break at work many years ago, when half at the table (about 8 people) were LotR fans and the other half had never read it. The expressions on the faces of those who hadn't read it, as the rest of us talked excitedly about rings, Hobbits, Elves, Wizards, Orcs, Smeagol, Treebeard and so much more, was very funny. I didn't believe that a live action movie could be made of it. Peter Jackson is a god in my book for his masterpiece. I had a few quibbles with his choices, but couldn't really complain when it was all so brilliant. The years when it was being released in theatres and on DVDs I had a constant feeling of anticipation. The extended versions are the best! There are also some great commentaries! You've probably figured, I'm a big fan of Tolkien and Jackson. I'm a fan of you two too. I had such fun reading Cheri's comments as her birthday greetings poured in. Thanks to you both for your friendship. Excellent image and dedication!

I'm so sorry I missed this, I'm going to fav you as an artist--I didn't before only because I didn't know if you'd be uploading again, & then I was away from Rosity so much time, etc etc...just give me a little time, I always write something in my favs and I'm very, very slow...But this upload is you to a tee: No matter what happens, the stuff you two brave together & just the grind of each day's job, you're here holding & shining deep light on your beloved, and it's real, deep, from the heart, and just wonderful. A wonderful upload, and your tributes touch me everytime. And btw (here comes the, "are you f_____g kidding me" moment): I never saw the Ring Trilogy. No, I don't live on Mars (well, I rent there for the summer), but I never saw it. I rarely get to the theater, and for reasons I can't explain I just never saw it on cable or on DVD (the latter being superior for widescreen, director's cut, etc etc). But I will, one of these days. The ring shot is glowing & special, and thank you for your wishes as always, I echo Marilyn's words, "I am blessed by knowing you and thank you for this gift," and Lucinda's and Chip's and...everyone who loves you & what you share, and of course who loves Cheri and what she shares. Happy New Year to you, Dave, you're a real gem, thanks for your visits, everyone of which have been gems, and for being part of the duo of C & D, one of the best on the web! A wonderful, riotous and illuminated 2010 to you both!

I read the books years ago, (I'm not big on movies) ... but I understood your title immediately! It was one of the oft-quoted lines from the books long, long, long before anyone thought of the movies. :P One of the great joys of my life is Renderosity and the relationships I've formed with people here. Having met you and Cheri in person, I feel like I'm one of the lucky ones! You both have such wonderful light and love, and you're both so dear to me. I'm sending you both big hugs and loads of joy! >:D< :D

I'm sorry I missed this! I am so late for everything:-( Its absolutely beautiful Dave and so you and Cheri! Everything that the two of you do speaks volumes of love and caring, thank you for sharing another wonderful writing! I've not seen the movies or read the books, my loss I am sure if such beauty resides within!
