Description

A shot for Cristo of my last place of work, West Burton power station. This is the path I used to cycle to work along. I was fit and healthy then, the old river path gave a quicker cross country route to work. It was 7 miles by road, about 3 this way. I had to cross a railway line and a few fences, it was worth it. I saw so much wildlife in the early morning light. This was taken yesterday at sunset, I was passing and couldn't resist the chance of bringing back a few memories. Me being a sucker for sunset photos anyway. It is 8 years since I left the Power Station you can see on the left. It is flat out in this sub zero weather, as I was taking the shot!

Just look at that!!! Most glorious view and the little warmth given by the setting sun is superb! And then the cooling towers in the background... wow - Christo will love it! :))

Wonderful colouring in this capture and the power station surely is, full steam ahead. Not sure that I would like to bike through the snow though.

It would be very quiet and very long ride to work each day. But I'm sure there are times it provides a great deal of discovery as well. Fantastic shot.
