I have not tried one of these before. And I always leave our heat turned on I would hate to return to a cold house. So just do as you said I would put it perhaps a slight bit lower then you normally leave it. I do the same with the air conditioner I know of people that turn it completely off but to me to have to re cool the whole house instead of just keeping it at a certain temperature makes more sense to me.

we are suppose to drop to 12 above tonight and it never got above freezing today.I never heard of that fruit.I love oranges but very allergic to them.sometimes it is better to turn your water off at the street than to take a chance on your house flooding and ruining all the mud work you done

Yeah, seen on CNN, plus ya'all spose get another freezing air mass. Look at it this way, IF you get a blizzard, then you'll have real snow like us up here :(

I think they sell them here as Clementines too. They are delicious. Is the cold weather hurting them? I'd keep some kind of heat on or your pipes will freeze.

fascinating play of light, and the fruit make a great contrast. I'd imagine that is plenty colder than normal for your area. You've already had plenty of advice, so I'll just say that I hope everything has been going well. My only 2 cents of advice (and that's really all it's likely to be worth) is that spending a bit more on heat now is better than spending to replace burst plumbing later! (Trust me on this one, I've been there!) Good luck with the move, too!
