Description

Leslie and Me You were such a happy baby That's what I've been told Then you were two and I was born And you cried and cried Not an auspicious beginning For a friendship such as ours In childhood, always together In hearts, never separated So many memories Crazy games, long stories Singing, laughing, talking, crying An indivisible unit Then life sent us in different directions A continent, sometimes an ocean Has been between us But we live deep in each other's heart You know me better than any other The same is true of you, by me No matter the distance We are not alone My sister, Leslie was diagnosed with ovarian cancer one and a half years ago. She is doing well. Leslie is beautiful, brave, funny, smart, and a pure joy to be with. I visit her in NYC this spring. I can not begin to express how much I'm looking forward to it. This is for you kiddo. You know the rest.

Wonderful words Lucinda. I don't really know my two brothers. One 6 years older and one 4 years younger. I get to see my younger brother twice a year at best. My older brother, only 3 times since 1967. It hurts sometimes. Give Leslie a super hug from me and we will pray for her full recovery. Dana & Josephine

I have no siblings, but I think I know what it's like to have one since I have friends who are family to me. I care as deeply for them (and even bring them up in my posts) and I know that when something affects one of them, I feel it too! Profoundly! I love the sensitivity of your tribute here, and the warmth of emotion that this piece exudes, as if exhaling a breath of fresh air. This is a wonderful piece of work and it shows beautiful devotion. Wonderful on multiple, rich levels.
