I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Rich, rich, rich...the first three words that come to mind. Love the reflecting light from just the right place. We know who will love this:)

Wow!!! Thank you! this is absolutely gorgeous. I'm a bit wary of shooting red since it never comes out for me, so I am thoroughly impressed on top of being charmed by the image! The little flare is perfect. What a nice touch! You are an amazing photographer, my skat. Stwye druke, Dierbaar! Ek het jou baie lief!

(I love how you & Tara speak Afrikaans to each other! Dit is baie mooi...) (hope that was correct!) I have the same problem painting with reds: They dominate, and must be handled with real care. You've caught them in a deep almost crimson state, and the dark background and lighting make them seem like old jewels. Very nicely presented, and I like the flare on one of the ties. (Those are some tie-backs!) Great image for Tara, who plays with light & dark as easefully as anyone.

Fabulous photography of those rather plush tiebacks Carin, and the little star effect just added that extra bling!! Superb compo, hugs Jane xx

Red is like pfthalo green...it just wants to take over, but you control it perfectly here. The red is nicely intense and the texture is amazing. Wonderful. There's a really sensual quality to this as well...something that strikes me as antique, and I think its from the sheen of the tie-back itself. We just don't really pay attention to textures and stuff like that now, and well...this really makes me think of all of those times in dank/moldy places that were so alive, so full of texture, so full of refined life. How wonderful it is to feel THAT from an image that doesn't imply dank or mold in any way whatsoever, but DOES evoke that sense of passion and life. This is amazing.
