Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Nice one Marilyn. Do you think the earthquake caused it to pop early? Walls of ferns...100 feet tall. Sounds prehistoric! Nice presentation...

Fern Canyon sounds like a photographers delight. Is there a spider web in there also? Dana

I love your misleading title. Plain ol' anything? Yeah, right! This bud stands out and you've captured it beautifully...I think that's what makes it far more than plain. I love the sense of life that you give this bud, especially since it's as vivid as your other work but with a completely different color flavor. This is really great stuff!

New buds are always a sweet promise of things to come for me. Thanks for the link, as that Fern Canyon sounds like somewhere I would love!

Hey Bud, Bud, gotta light? I like the angle of the bud and focus in this keen komposition, Maz!

Budding stuff, there is hope that someday spring will come, hopefully to the Midwest this year. Great shot.

agree with chip...your titles are an institution here. (As I've said, I'm aware of imitating them from time to time!) Lovely capture of a bud. And the soft-focussed background actually looks like veils or sheets of light. Very nice effect: I had no idea trees budded in January where you were (because you're in a cold environment); though your shot makes it look very lonely. Nice solo shot, Marilyn. And good to see this place in your gallery...(Ok, I'm giving you this one, though you probably already thought of it: Your next one should say "This Bud's for You".) (Soooooooooo original...)
